Romer House
The first adult-only boutique hotel in Waikiki.
Waikiki, Hawaii
A neighborhood staple. Familiar, yet surprising. A destination for some, a habit for most. Comforting fun for all.
Nested between the famous surf break and the imposing lush jungle-like mountains, lies a repository of modern architecture punctuated by breezeways, pastel colors and “secret” courtyards. Many original buildings still stand almost unaltered, particularly in the Kūhio neighborhood, a pocket of Waikiki that has remained preserved and relatively undiscovered until recent years.
This is Romer House.

“Find beauty not only in the thing itself but
in the pattern of the shadows, the light and dark which that thing provides.
The quality that we call beauty … must always grow from the realities of life, and our ancestors, forced to live in dark rooms, presently came to discover beauty in shadows,
ultimately to guide shadows toward
beauty’s ends.”
