Lead project designer

Indidesign, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA is an award winning design studio, specialized in luxury hospitality design and high-end commercial interiors. We are seeking experienced Lead Project Designers to lead and carry out the development of design concepts for an array of luxury hospitality projects. Individuals will apply advanced theoretical knowledge of interior design concepts and principles, as well as experience with industry tools and technologies, to perform the following duties:

  • Supervise all aspects of interior design team and be responsible for material, fabric, and furniture selection co-ordination.
  • Direct and oversee the preparation of presentations, project documents, and research design solutions.
  • Supervise the delivery and presentation of concept designs.
  • Supervise and lead the creation of shop drawings for client approval and oversee all details required for production.
  • Lead design team with all facets of space planning.
  • Oversee and monitor quality control checks.
  • Create design budget by researching and estimating material requirements and costs.
  • Manage and liaise with clients and consultants.
  • Create hand sketches to communicate design intent with design team.
  • Ensure co-ordination of all drawing changes and drawing requests are completed in an accurate and timely manner.

As assigned, may perform other duties normally associated with this occupation.
*Note: This position will supervise Interns and Junior and Intermediate Designers.

REQUIREMENTS: The normal minimum requirements for the offered position are as follows: Master's degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or any related field of study providing the required knowledge and abilities, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in any related position(s) that provided the required skills and abilities.

Qualified candidates must have demonstrable knowledge, experience and proficiency with the following:

  1. AutoCAD.
  2. Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop.
  3. SketchUp.
  4. Working on at least three (3) new construction or substantial remodels with large scope and a minimum budget of $15,000,000.
  5. Developing at least three (3) high level design concepts for large 4-6 star hotel projects.
  6. Space planning at least three (3) complex hospitality projects for 4-6 star properties.
  7. Liaising with technical consultants.

Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. The term “suitable,” in this context, means substantial compatibility with stated academic level and job experience requirements, and ability to perform job duties.
